Statement From EPSA President and CEO Todd Snitchler
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following the confirmation of U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Monday, the Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA) congratulated Wright along with recently confirmed leaders of the Department of the Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency, Doug Burgum and Lee Zeldin. EPSA President and CEO Todd Snitchler issued the following statement:
“On behalf of EPSA and its members, I extend our congratulations to Secretary Chris Wright, Secretary Doug Burgum, and Administrator Lee Zeldin on their confirmations. This is a pivotal moment for the power system as it faces increasing challenges from rising electricity demand, driven by the expansion of AI technologies and data centers, manufacturing growth, and electrification across industries. Properly functioning competitive wholesale electricity markets have a proven track record of delivering the reliable power needed to fuel this growth while adapting to new technologies and market conditions and shielding consumers and taxpayers from investment risks. These benefits are made all the more salient as recent news about DeepSeek and other AI tools has underscored the likely quickly changing dynamics of the industry as it develops.
