WASHINGTON – In response to today’s renomination of Chair Richard Glick to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, EPSA President and CEO Todd Snitchler issued the following statement:

“EPSA looks forward to a robust conversation around issues critical to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)’s jurisdiction with the renomination of Chairman Glick to lead the agency. Glick’s renomination comes at a time when FERC’s mission to ensure reliable, safe, secure & economically efficient energy for consumers has never been more important.

“With both FERC and NERC sounding the alarm this week about the possibility of rolling blackouts across much of the country this summer, it is vital that Chairman Glick commit to developing sound policies that ensure access to reliable power as the grid transitions to cleaner sources of energy.

“EPSA and its members will continue to provide market-based solutions that prioritize reliability, diversify energy sources, and reduce emissions at the least cost to consumers. The challenges we face are not insurmountable and we are ready to continue working with Chairman Glick and FERC to advance sound energy solutions.”
