Electric Power Trades Seek Dismissal of Mabee Cybersecurity Complaint

By EPSA

Home / Filings / Electric Power Trades Seek Dismissal of Mabee Cybersecurity Complaint

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA BEFORE THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION

Complaint of Michael Mabee Related to Critical Infrastructure Reliability Standards

Docket No. EL20-46-000

Motion to Intervene and Comments of Trade Associations

EPSA joins 5 electric trade associations in filing comments asking FERC to dismiss the most recent complaint from Michael Mabee, which was filed at FERC on May 11, 2020 (Docket No. EL20-46). The joint comments request that FERC dismiss Mr. Mabee’s complaint on the ground the Complaint fails to articulate any connection between the President’s May 1, 2020 Executive Order on bulk electric system equipment and Reliability Standard CIP-013-1. The comments also explain that Mr. Mabee’s complaint does not identify any basis for requiring the Commission to address the NIST Cybersecurity Framework in the CIP Standards.
