EPSA Comments on DOE Request for Information

“Energy Storage Grand Challenge”

These comments highlight the ability of competitive electricity markets to maximize the value of R&D support while offering the best means to foster the environment and incentives to integrate an array of emerging technologies including energy storage. EPSA also stressed that it is critical that DOE coordinate with FERC on market issues as the Commission is charged with balancing such considerations across the broad range of stakeholders and varied patchwork of market designs and mechanisms, ensuring that any change does not assist the operation of one industry to the detriment of another or many others.
