In response to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s two-day workshop on generator interconnection, EPSA filed comments expressing its continued concern with the Commission’s recent approval of CAISO’s discriminatory commercial interest scoring category.
EPSA stressed the importance of preserving open access to the transmission system and offered some possible future options to resolving queue issues that might merit additional Commission consideration.
EPSA outlined that market-oriented mechanisms or other non-discriminatory approaches represent pathways to allocate limited transmission study capacity in a manner that supports the development of needed new power generation and helps ensure an efficient, reliable system to serve the nation’s customers.
