The Coalition touts the benefits of CISA 2015 and urges Congress to swiftly reauthorize this legislation.

EPSA joined a broad coalition of industry associations (both within the energy space and beyond) in signing onto the attached letter, which was sent to every member of the U.S. Congress. The letter urges Congress to reauthorize the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA 2015) before it expires on September 30, 2025. The letter notes that CISA 2015 (which was passed with bipartisan support) is a cornerstone of American cybersecurity and “enhances businesses’ ability to respond swiftly to today’s cyber threats, including tackling cybersecurity issues and addressing them at scale.”
The letter further provides that since the implementation of CISA 2015, collaboration in cybersecurity has improved significantly in several ways, including encouraging the development and/or the expansion of information sharing and analysis centers, or ISACs, across multiple sectors and states that cyber incidents “underscore the need for legislation that helps businesses augment their understanding of cybersecurity threats and strengthen their protection and response capabilities in collaboration with government entities.”
The letter closes by stating that Congressional action is urgently needed and that the Coalition is dedicated to collaborating with the Trump administration and lawmakers to swiftly reauthorize CISA to enhance national security and bolster the resilience and protection of the U.S. business community.
