EPSA Testimony in Support of Ohio Senate Bill to Enhance Competition and Expand Choice for Ohio Customers

EPSA provided written testimony in support of Ohio House Bill 15. House Bill 15 would make a number of changes to energy policy including explicitly prohibiting distribution companies from entering the generation market and the elimination of electric security plans, which allow companies to charge customers for planned grid improvements outside of traditional rate cases. EPSA outlined the myriad benefits that competition has brought to Ohio and the broader PJM region while noting that House Bill 15 would build on these benefits. EPSA’s testimony states that this legislation would provide increased transparency and protect Ohio ratepayers from incurring any further unnecessary non-supply related charges. EPSA applauded the Ohio House for considering this legislation and urged that the House expeditiously pass this measure.
