Data Centers Are Changing How Projects Are Developed: The scale and speed of hyperscale data centers are pushing the industry toward new development models. Co-location and partnerships between developers and large customers are becoming more common as a way to accelerate timelines and manage risk.
“Our estimation is around even 25% of our demand in Q1 of 2026 was directly related to data center customers.”
Supply Chain Limitations Go Beyond Turbines: While turbine shortages are a key issue, other components—such as transformers and substation equipment—are also facing long lead times.
“It‘s not sustainable that we have four-to-five-year lead times on infrastructure equipment for a really long extended period of time… that’s why we’re increasing capacity.”
Gas Turbines Continue To Play a Central Role in Reliability: As a mature and dispatchable technology, gas turbines provide stability and support for the grid, particularly as more intermittent resources are added. Their ability to deliver reliable power quickly makes them a critical part of the current energy mix.

2030 Is a Key Milestone for the Industry: Much of the current buildout is expected to come online by the end of the decade. By that point, the industry should have a clearer understanding of how demand—especially from AI—has evolved and whether current investments have aligned with actual needs.
“2030 is a very critical time in the energy industry. By that time, we will have a clearer picture of what’s the outcome of all these AI training centers that are built.”
